Regardless of industry, when working on product development, it often makes sense to produce a prototype to make sure your new product is fit for purpose and performs the way you expect it, or want it to. It is entirely possible that without choosing to have a prototype made first, you could be wasting a lot of time and more importantly, money by having a product that has a major flaw which wasn’t noticed at the technical drawing stage.
At C H Barnett, we put our many years’ of experience in the fabrication industry to good use by working with our customers to help them develop new products and improve existing ones. By producing a prototype, it enables both our engineers and our customers to make any changes or improvements to the design before going into full production, thereby saving the customer time and money.
Throughout the prototyping and product development process, engineers work closely with our customers to ensure that their product is made to their precise specifications and requirements. The prototype will be able to demonstrate the appearance, dimensions and features of the final product.
Using our customers’ initial designs, we use solid modelling CAD software to create the prototype. Once it has been produced, it can then be subjected to tests to ensure that the product is suitable for its intended use. Only once our customers are completely happy will we proceed to full production.
All product development work is carried out in a controlled environment at our premises in Birmingham. This means that the prototyping is only carried out by our engineers ensuring complete customer confidentiality.
