Stainless Steel Welding Services
Here at C H Barnett, we pride ourselves on delivering first-class sheet metal fabrications. The high quality of our welding capability is supported by our continued investment in the latest equipment and training for our skilled employees. This means that we are able to supply exceptional products for our many customers in a number of industries such as food, pharmaceutical and medical, oil and gas, architectural, and environmental.
Our welding processes
Depending on the requirement, different welding techniques are used in sheet metal fabrication. Our highly skilled welders are able to carry out the following welding processes:
- Stainless Steel MIG Welding (metal inert gas) – this process uses a constant wire feed as an electrode to join the metal together with an inert or semi-inert gas mixture which protects the weld from contamination.
- Stainless Steel TIG Welding (tungsten inert gas) – this manual welding process uses a tungsten electrode to produce the weld in conjunction with a separate filler material. Again, an inert or semi-inert gas is used to protect the weld from contamination. This process is suitable for seam welding thin metals.
- Stainless Steel Spot Welding – This method is used to join overlapping metal sheets and is achieved by using two electrodes to clamp the metal together while passing a current through. With a consistent weld quality, spot welding will give a low-cost method of joining metals which do not require a seam.
Quality welding regardless of specification
Whatever type of welding process is used, we are confident that we will produce exceptional welding capability for stainless steel and aluminium, regardless of your specifications and requirements. We specialise in welding high quality stainless steel products from 1mm to 15mm thick.
Our welders are professionally trained and many hold coded welder certification. This certification ensures that our welding quality and productivity is second-to-none and complies with European standards for welding competence.

Skilled in all areas of stainless steel assembly methods
During stainless steel assembly, depending on the specifications of the product, a number of different assembly techniques can be employed. Our skilled assembly technicians can use a single technique, or a combination of assembly methods to achieve the required result.
Stainless steel assembly can be achieved by
- Welding
- Riveting
- Threaded fasteners
- Bending to form a crimped seam
For those fabrications that will be used in the food processing and preparation sectors, we have a dedicated clean room assembly area where we can control the risk of contamination.
